Becoming a Massage Therapist
All recognized massage therapists in south eastern Ontario, regardless of province, have attended some form of Education in Massage Therapy. Overall across Canada, the standards for practice are high and the knowledge of an educated massage therapist is very comprehensive. Massage Therapists study subjects such as:
- Neurology
- Physiology
- Anatomy
- Ethics
- Palpations
- Remedial Exercise
- Kinesiology and more.

In regulated provinces, the steps to becoming a Massage Therapist follow this order:
- Attend an Approved Massage Therapy School in your province
- Complete Program Requirements and/or Requirements to become “Registered as a Massage Therapists in your Province”
- Write Board Exams – if application to your province
- Become a member of provincial association of Massage Therapists
